Troops burst kidnapper’s den in FCT, arrest notorious informant

Troops of the Nigerian Army conducted a raid on a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in the Ajegunle Mpape area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and apprehended a notorious informant suspect, Ashiru Mohammed, known for harboring kidnappers.

During the raid, Mohammed was arrested along with two female accomplices, Raham Abubakar and Sadiya Mohammed. They were found in possession of one Beretta pistol, one pistol magazine, and 21 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

The Nigerian Army disclosed these details in a post on their official handle on Friday, May 24.

The post reads: “In a recent Anti-Kidnap operation, troops of the Nigerian Army deployed for internal security duties made significant strides in combating kidnapping activities in the Federal Capital Territory.

“In the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory, troops conducted a raid on a suspected kidnappers’ hideout in Ajegunle Mpape on Thursday, May 23, 2024, targeting a notorious informant known for harboring kidnappers.

“During the operation, the troops apprehended an informant suspect named Ashiru Mohammed along with two female accomplices, Raham Abubakar and Sadiya Mohammed.

“The suspects were found in possession of one Beretta pistol, one pistol magazine, and 21 rounds of 9mm ammunition.

“The troops also recovered five ATM cards from different banks, two mobile phones, and suspected illicit drugs. The suspects are currently assisting in further investigations.”
