Shock As  Ademola Lookman’s Pix Is Missing on Skysports Graphics Celebrating Atalanta

Nigerians have expressed their displeasure and  disappointment at Sky Sports a British media outlet for omitting Super Eagles forward, Ademola Lookman, from its graphic celebrating Atalanta’s Europa League victory.

Lookman made history when on Wednesday night scored a hat-trick thereby  becoming the first African player and player to score a hat-trick in a UEFA Europa League final.

The omission however drew criticisms with many calling out Sky News for their oversight.

Lookman’s Atalanta stunned Bayer Leverkusen 3-0, ending the Bundesliga champions’ 51-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

Reactions from netizens on X formerly Twitter have flooded the timeline of Sky sports for the omission.

A netizen going with the name @iamstretch said “Blasting well deserved, how can Lookman score a hattrick and practically win them Atalanta the trophy and his pic was excluded from their media post.”

Lerum Austin with the name Ausinleru62515 said “why did they do that in the first place. Avery big mistake.”

Nollywood actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim, who tweets as @NseIkpeEtim, said, “This is shocking. Ademola Lookman scores a beautiful hat-trick and you couldn’t bring yourself to use an image of his. Sure you can do better.”

Investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo, tweeting with the handle @fisayosoyombo, said, “Nigerian footballer Ademola Lookman, who scored all three goals that fetched Atlanta the trophy did not make it to your cover photo? All of you @SkyFootball are collectively an unbelievable joke!”

To some that said the picture was done before the match,, an Xuser going by the name @emmycluiz2  reacted by saying
“Y’all shouting the picture was created before the match….. how long does it takes to create a picture…..most of them uses AI, so it won’t even take up to 10min. It was intentional”
