Ejiofor stated that the defamatory suit against the outlets is due to the expiration of the 24-hour warning he gave to them to retract their offending publication.
Hence the commenced a defamatory suit before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, against the outfit.
His statement read in parts:
Following the failure/refusal of TheCable media outfit to issue a retraction and an unreserved apology, in respect of their offending defamatory publication, authored by a purported Adeyemi Adegoke Olumide and published on their platform on the 11th day of March 2023; I have today, upon the expiration of the 24-hour NOTICE given to them to retract their offending publication, commenced a defamatory suit before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, against the outfit.
We shall keep the public abreast of every development in this case as we progress. There must be legal consequences for every infraction, and the law must run its full course, as always.
