Bandits Feeding Kidnapped Babies To Dogs, Zamfara Rep Alleges

How Fulani Bandits Are Feeding Captive Newborns to Dogs

Aminu Jaji, a member of the House of Representatives representing Kaura-Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, has raised grave concerns over the worsening security situation in the region. He alleged that bandits have committed horrifying atrocities, including feeding newborn babies, born in captivity, to dogs.

Speaking to journalists at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Wednesday, the All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmaker recounted chilling incidents that underscore the severity of the crisis in his constituency.

“A pregnant woman was kidnapped and gave birth to twins while in captivity,” Jaji stated emotionally. “Shockingly, the leader of the bandits took the infants and threw them to his dogs. The dogs devoured them, one after the other.”

“This is a situation that demands urgent attention. We need to confront it collectively. Something must be done.”

Despite the dire conditions, Jaji rejected proposals to deploy foreign mercenaries to assist the military, insisting that the Nigerian Armed Forces are capable of addressing the insurgency if adequately supported.

“I do not believe Nigeria needs mercenaries to defeat terrorists. Our military has the capacity to secure this nation,” he said. “What we must do is modernize our operations with advanced technology and ensure our troops are well-equipped and properly cared for.”

He also opposed the idea of declaring a state of emergency in Zamfara, advocating instead for a strategic shift in military operations, particularly through the use of technology.

Jaji further lamented that bandits have effectively seized control of large parts of his constituency, operating with impunity and acting as de facto authorities over the local population.

Backing his claims with more harrowing details, he revealed that over 200 people have been kidnapped in his constituency alone. “Two weeks ago, 60 people were abducted in Banga. Ten were killed because the community couldn’t raise the N30 million ransom. As we were still grieving, another 25 were taken in Gabake. Just yesterday, fresh attacks occurred in Kungurki,” he reported.
